🎨 Handbuilding with Clay - Día de Muertos with Art Experimentos
🛠️ Workshop Overview
Shaping Memory / Modelando la Memoria /
Led in Eng & SP
In this gathering of ritual ceramics and collective memory, we will create multiple elements that give life to a Día de Muertos altar: portrait holders to honor our departed, plates for pan de muerto, miniature offerings, and symbolic pieces that exist between tradition and imagination.
We’ll draw inspiration from the popular aesthetics of José Guadalupe Posada, the monumental imagery of Diego Rivera, and the artisanal sensibility of Carmen Caballero, shaping clay as an ancestral language that is never forgotten.
You’ll learn to bring your ideas from sketch to three-dimensional ceramic form, shaping and decorating each piece with intention and memory. We’ll then take care of the firing process, so that each creation is ready to bring light and meaning to your altar.
