Filet Crochet with Rhiannon Platt (lace class)
at Tiny Arts Supply, 612 Woodward Avenue
Join us for an introduction to filet crochet, a delicate lace-making technique dating back to the turn of the 20th century!
In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn how to create patterns and images using open and filled crochet spaces. Traditionally worked with fine thread and tiny hooks, we'll use thicker yarn to make this sometimes-tricky technique more approachable.
Once you've learned the basics of filet crochet, you'll be able to adapt pixelated images into crochet patterns and create your own original designs. Learn how turn images into handmade textile art!
Important: Students must already know how to chain and double crochet, by purchasing a ticket to this class you are confirming that you know how to chain and double crochet. This class focuses on filet crochet, not learning these foundational stitches.
