Join us for a hands-on introduction to Black & White Film Developing! In this beginner-friendly workshop, you'll learn how to develop your own black and white film at home... no darkroom required.
We'll cover the complete developing process, including pushing and pulling film, the materials you'll need, how agitation and timing affect your results, and tips for setting up a simple home developing workflow. You'll leave with the knowledge and confidence to continue developing film on your own.
Participants are encouraged to bring one roll of undeveloped black and white film or a roll of color film to process during class. Please note : You can develop color film to black and white but the process cannot be undone. Don't have a roll? No problem! Film will be available for demonstration, and you're welcome to observe and learn.
Please note that this workshop focuses on developing film only. We will not be scanning or making prints, but you'll leave with one roll of developed negatives ready to be scanned or printed at your favorite photo lab.
No experience necessary; all chemistry and equipment provided.
